Magnificent castle weddings

Exchange your vows in the wonderful castle park.

When you decide to say “I do”, make sure that your day is truly like something out of a fairy tale. Sevnica Castle, rising above the old town, is surrounded by a beautiful park offering the perfect backdrop for your wedding. The ceremony can take place in the magnificent wedding hall or out in the open, in the castle park, where history intertwines with nature. Baron Moscon, as well as other lords and ladies of the castle, will crown this unforgettable experience with a sparkling wine banquet and the possibility of taking photos in the rooms of the castle, as well as in the park.

Becoming a godparent to Blaufränkisch vines in the castle vineyard

Become a part of the ever-evolving story of wine.

Since 2007, the 500 Blaufränkisch vines growing on the sunny terraces under the walls of the castle are being cultivated by local winegrowers once more. By becoming a godparent to one of those vines, this is your chance to also become a part of this story: your name will be written on a plaque next to the vine, and you will be invited to the traditional pruning of vines and the autumn harvest to commemorate the important moments of the wine-growing year together with other godparents. These events are an excellent opportunity to enjoy some local delicacies, taste delicious castle wine, and spend some pleasant time together in the castle park. Godparents also receive a bottle of wine from the castle vineyard, made from grapes that you helped grow.

Local wine tastings

Taste the wines from the castle wine shop and the Blaufränkisch wine cellar.

Discover the richness of Sevnica’s wine heritage with a guided tasting in the Sevnica Castle wine shop. Selected wines of local winemakers await you in the unique ambience of the castle vaults, with an emphasis on the Blaufränkisch – an indigenous variety and the pride of the region of Posavje. During the tasting, you will find out more about the different styles of the Blaufränkisch, from fresh to ripe variants, and learn more about the history and peculiarities of this variety. Enjoy the wine in the company of some local delicacies, such as Sevnica salami, local cheeses, and bread.

Animated tours for children

Life of the lords of the manor through the eyes of a child.

Experience a magical castle adventure in the form of an animated tour at Sevnica Castle. Designed for preschool and elementary school groups, the program takes children back to the 17th century, where they will find out more about the life of Baron Moscon and his entourage. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by the castle administrator who will take them through the Baroque castle salons to the Count’s bedroom, where they must wake up the sleepy Count. In return, he will greet them with stories about his adventures. But the Count also has to dress for the day; while waiting, young visitors can sit in the benches of the authentic old classroom, just like the ones in which their grandparents used to sit, before joining the Count for breakfast in the large dining room, where they will all sing some songs and taste homemade biscuits. The programme will continue with a visit to the castle puppet theater. At the end of the tour, the children will peek into the castle dungeon, thereby completing their unforgettable experience.
